I have officiated ceremonies that included Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai traditions.
Char's and James' ceremony, written by the bride, included a reading in Cantonese by the bride’s brother followed by a Tea Ceremony symbolizing the uniting of the couple and their families. In this lovely tradition the bride and groom shared tea and then served tea to their immediate families.
In this Thai Water ceremony, the couple was draped with a string of flowers symbolizing their union. Starting with the eldest guest, water is poured from a conch shell over the couple’s hands, bestowing blessings.
